Welcome to Sweet Balsam Fragrance Co.! I’m Sara, the founder and creator. I’m delighted you’ve found your way here.

After I found the Lord in 2016, I created a habit of daily Bible study. Each morning, I cherish the quiet moments alone with God, my Bible, and a cup of coffee, often on my back patio watching birds at the feeder. However, like many of us, the demands of daily life quickly take over once my kids wake up – laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning, and the distractions of everyday life. I found myself struggling to hold onto the scripture and spiritual insights I had in the morning. How could I remember to meditate on God’s Word throughout the day, amidst the busyness and distractions?

Then the Lord gave me an idea.  Reflecting on the powerful link between scent and memory, I wondered if I could harness this connection to deepen my relationship with scripture. I can smell a scent and be taken back 20 years with the memories of a person, place, or time in my life rushing back to me. Would it be possible to create scent memories that would help me recall and dwell on Biblical truths throughout my day when I didn’t live during the writing of it?

I began experimenting, selecting fragrances to pair with specific Bible passages. Remarkably, I found that these scents created a tangible association with the scriptures I was studying! Whether lighting a candle in the morning, using a wax warmer during playtime with my kids, applying perfume for a special occasion, or simply refreshing my home with a fragrant mist, each scent became a gentle prompt to pause and reflect on God’s Word.

This discovery transformed my daily routine. The scents of Sweet Balsam then became more than fragrances; they became reminders for a more intentional spiritual life.
